A warm, relationship-centered early childhood center on Fairfax Avenue — serving infants, toddlers, and preschoolers up to age 4. Reggio & Montessori inspired.
We started as an intimate in-home program. Every decision about our new center — the space, the ratios, the philosophy — reflects that founding spirit.
Infant ratio 1:3. Small, caring groups across all ages.
Consistent caregivers build secure attachments. Every child knows they belong here.
A brand-new center designed from the ground up — 3,300 sq ft of indoor classrooms and 2,200 sq ft of outdoor play areas, with natural materials throughout — wood furniture, open-ended wooden toys, and real objects that invite curiosity
Calm, cozy, and intentional. Children feel safe enough to take risks, explore, and grow.

What began as a small, nurturing in-home program has grown into a beautiful early learning environment shaped by meaningful relationships and gentle, child-centered care.
We see each child as capable, curious, and whole. Through small ratios, patient guidance, and developmentally grounded experiences, we support every child at their own pace.
Real, open-ended materials that invite creativity and discovery.
Secure bonds with consistent caregivers are at the heart of everything.
Thoughtfully designed spaces that bring the outside in, every day.

"Our daughter was at Happy Nook from two months old until she was 2, where it became a second home for her. We were so fortunate to have her in such a safe, loving environment for those years. The care provided by Priscilla was absolutely top notch."
"Words cannot express the joy we feel having our son at such a warm, safe, engaging and amazing learning center. Knowing children are in an environment where they can grow and thrive is incredible! The staff is warm, knowledgeable, caring, and kind. The best!"
"Happy Nook is a wonderful spot for childcare. Priscilla and her team are incredible — having long-standing staff who really know the kids makes such a big difference. They have a nice balance of indoor and outdoor play, and there's always a good variety of activities. My wife and I highly recommend Happy Nook and are forever thankful."
"We feel incredibly lucky to have found Happy Nook. It's a place where we have complete trust that our daughter is in the best hands. She is truly thriving, happy, confident, and fully bilingual — which has been amazing to witness. Priscilla is exceptional — kind, dedicated, and deeply caring."
"My son attended Happy Nook from age 10 months to 2 years. In that infant stage, my most important criteria was that he was loved — and at Happy Nook, he was, in spades. It was clear that Priscilla genuinely knew and cared for him. I'm forever grateful for finding Happy Nook when I did."
"We knew immediately upon touring that this was the place for us. Priscilla is extremely warm, communicative, and goes above and beyond. Beautiful outdoor space, small group size, and fun play-based learning. My son is excited to attend every day."
"Our family has been with Happy Nook for three years. A fantastic outdoor space, genuine 1:1 attention, and long-standing staff our kids adore. Our kids thrive, and we're completely at ease while they're in their care."
"Happy Nook has been such a gift to our family. My son started there when he was just 4 months old, and now at 2 years old, he continues to thrive in their care. Like many parents, I was incredibly nervous about leaving my baby in daycare so I could return to work, but Happy Nook quickly gave me so much peace of mind. The teachers and staff are loving, attentive, and truly invested in each child's growth. My son has flourished in their nurturing environment, gaining confidence, independence, and joy along the way."

Start by scheduling a tour. Fill out the form above and we'll reach out within one business day. After your tour, we'll walk you through the enrollment process together.
We draw from Reggio Emilia and Montessori philosophies — play-based learning, open-ended exploration, Montessori-inspired independence, and a calm, home-like atmosphere where children grow at their own pace.
We intentionally keep our groups small across every classroom:
• Infants (0–18 months): 1:3 ratio
• Toddlers (18–36 months): 1:4 ratio
• Preschoolers (2–4 years): small groups
Every child is seen, known, and cared for as an individual.
We use Brightwheel to keep families connected throughout the day. You'll receive real-time updates including photos, activity logs, meals, nap times, and daily notes — all from your phone. You can also message staff directly through the app. Staying closely connected with families is part of how we care.
Happy Nook provides fresh organic snacks each morning and afternoon, prepared and served on-site. Monthly snack menus are posted in advance. Families provide their child's meals (breakfast and lunch), which should be labeled, age-appropriate, and ready to eat. We are a nut-free center — no nuts, nut butters, or nut products may be brought in. Non-nut alternatives like sunflower butter are welcome with proper labeling.
We ask that children stay home if they have a fever, vomiting, diarrhea, or any contagious symptoms. If a child becomes unwell during the day, we'll contact you right away. Children should be symptom-free for 24 hours before returning. This keeps everyone — children and caregivers — healthy and safe.
All children must be fully up to date on California-required vaccinations before enrollment. If you have specific questions about immunization requirements, we're happy to walk you through everything during your tour or speak with you directly.
Happy Nook uses a purpose-built access control system. The building remains locked at all times — entry requires an assigned PIN unique to each authorized family. All visitors are verified before entry, and only individuals on your child's authorized list may pick up or drop off. Children are signed in and out at the classroom door each day.
3,300 sq ft of thoughtfully designed indoor space plus 2,200 sq ft of outdoor play — built from the ground up for the youngest learners.
